Literacy

Its rhyme time! What is special about rhyming words? That’s right … rhyming words must sound the same!

We have completed a sheet like this before when we learnt about under the sea. Today it’s seaside rhyming. Write as many words that rhyme with each word given. What do you notice about the words that rhyme? Do you spot any patterns?

As usual don’t forget to use your Fred fingers to spell words. Are your letters well formed? Don’t forget to make sure the letters you write are clear.

Maths

This week in maths we are going to learn about numbers to 20. Start off by counting forwards and backwards to 20, if you can go higher keep going. You can use a number line to help you with number recognition too.

Today we are going to focus on one more. Use the blank number line attached to make a number line to 20. Give your child a number and ask them to find one more by jumping forward one. Repeat this with a variety of numbers. Keep your number lines safe for tomorrows learning.

Finish off our maths learning by playing our ordering number game.

Topic

Today we are learning all about summer, read through the information attached. When is summer? What happens in summer? What else did you learn about summer?

We have attached a printable pinwheel sheet with instructions and a template to make your own.

Don’t forget to test it out. If you have any sand you could make sandcastles to put your pinwheel on top of! Don’t forget to send us any pictures.
