Below you will find all the learning for today. This includes reading, writing, maths and a foundation subject (Science, Geography, History, R.E, Computing, art or Design Technology). The coloured activities should be completed if your child is in that group in class. All reading texts and worksheets can be found at the bottom of the page, some reading texts will be posted Monday for use all week. 

 

Reading - Today we will be reading form the text version of Macbeth. Begin on page 26 last paragraph' to Page 27 'such a word'

Predict -

What might Macbeth do to be free of his nightmares and visions?

Clarify 

  • desolation
  • apparitions

Question -  

  1. What new evil deed does Macbeth carry out?
  2. Why did he do this?
  3. What does the Queen try to wash away?
  4. The spot is not really there, why do you think the Queen thinks it is?

Summary 

Explain why all the people turned against Macbeth.

 

Writing - Shakespeare: Macbeth - Planning our writing

Today's lesson will help you plan the writing that will happen over Thursday and Friday. We will use film clips from Shakespeare's Animated Tales to plan a character description. Next, we will look at the personal qualities Macbeth possesses at four significant points in the play.

  • Beginning - Warrior
  • Macbeth and his wife make a plan - Ambitious
  • Macbeth and his wife do a deed - Weak
  • Murder - Guilty

To support our assessments of each quality, we will use evidence from the film clips.

Green and Yellow - Complete the lesson activity - use ideas and vocabulary we have practised since the start of this work on Macbeth. Feel free to add other ideas of your own, think of grammar skills. Show off what you can do. 

Orange and Red - Complete the lesson activity - use ideas and vocabulary we have practised since the start of this work on Macbeth. Show off what you can do. 

Blue - Complete the lesson activity - use ideas and vocabulary we have practised since the start of this work on Macbeth. Focus on the use of verbs and adverbs as well as noun phrases to create imagery.

Foundation - PE - Choose an activity to do with your family

Go for a walk (remember to follow the Covid safety guidelines) What can you see around your local area that has changed? Can you see any signs of spring coming yet? How is the weather different? Did you see any animals?
