Reciprocal Reading 

Today, we are going to continue reading our final chapter of ‘The Legend of Captain Crow’s Teeth.’ Read pages 5, 6 and 7 below. Today’s focus is to clarify words we have read in this chapter so far. Use a dictionary to find the meaning of these words and then write a sentence or two to explain each word.

Literacy 

Today in literacy, you are going to complete a mini quiz on both elements of grammar that we have learnt over the last two days. If you do not have a printer then you can just write the answers on some paper. Please see two quizzes below.

Maths 

Red, Orange, Yellow and Green: Today you will be learning about parallel and perpendicular lines. Parallel lines have the same distance between them and never cross. Perpendicular lines cross over with a right angle. Remember, a right angle measures at 90 degrees. Attached is an image to show the difference and a PowerPoint to work through with an adult so that you understand the methods for working out the answers. Once you have worked through the PowerPoint, you must have a go at answering the questions independently (ask an adult for help if you get stuck).

Blue 2: Today you will begin your learning on position and direction. You are going to begin with describing movement. You need to pay careful attention to the direction that the object/animal is facing before deciding which direction it is moving. Blue 1: Today you will be learning order objects. Before you write the answer, count how many there are of each object (or how many in each group) and then you can order the objects, paying careful attention to the mathematical language. Attached is a PowerPoint to work through with an adult so that you understand the methods for working out the answers. Once you have worked through the PowerPoint, you must have a go at answering the questions independently (ask an adult for help if you get stuck).

Geography 

There are 7 continents on planet Earth, Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Australia/Oceania, Europe, North America, and South America. Today, you will be learning all about the continent Europe. You will be carrying out research about the countries, capital cities, populations and languages spoken in Europe.
