Writing - Shakespeare: Macbeth - Past Tense

Introduction - quickly remind yourself of tenses using this video.

In this lesson, we will revise the three tenses: past, present, future. We will then break them down into past, present and future progressive tense. Lastly, we will recap knowledge of how regular and irregular verbs change in the past tense.

This lesson talks about using past progressive tense (which simply means the action carried on for sometime) and the past participle. Here are some examples, the video will show you more:

  • Simple past tense - He walked to school.
  • Past progressive  -  He was walking to school.
  • Simple past tense - She ate her dinner.
  • Past progressive - She was eating her dinner.
  • Past simple - The children jumped in the puddles.
  • Past Progressive - The children were jumping in the puddles.
