Reciprocal Reading
Today, you are going to continue reading the final chapter of The Iron Man. Today’s reading pages are 55 – 58 (‘BUMP’), (between the blue stars).
Work through the Reading PowerPoint and complete today’s written task. The chapter is attached below.
Here is the order we usually follow in class for Reciprocal Reading:
Literacy
Today, you are going to sequence pictures of the story of The Iron Man and orally retell it to an adult.
Attached are some pictures from The Iron Man so far.
First, I would like you to sequence the pictures in order (you do not have to use them all, you could pick the main events that you are going to write about). In class, we usually choose 5 paragraphs:
When you have completed this, practice retelling the story to yourself using the pictures. You may want to add actions when you are retelling it.
I have added a video clip of Pie Corbett retelling a story using actions.

Once you are ready, ask an adult or sibling to listen to you retell. Try not to use the story map.
Maths
Green - Today, you are going to continue learning about fractions. We are going to learn about tenths.
Here is the link to a video that will teach you everything you need to know for this lesson, just as I would teach you in class: https://vimeo.com/502315833
After you have watched the video, have a go at answering the questions on the attached worksheet. Afterwards, you can mark your answers and ask a grown up to go through any mistakes you made that you don’t know how to correct.
Attached is a true or false for you to answer. Work through it and explain your answers. This is just a discussion to have with somebody else, you do not need to write anything down.
ROY - Today, you are continuing your learning of dividing a 2 digit number by a 1 digit number.

Blue - Today, you are going to be learning to represent numbers to 50.

Art
This week you are going to complete your drawing of the Iron Man by shading in your sketch from our last Art lesson.
We have learnt about shading in class before so try to remember what we learnt.
For dark areas you will need to press hard with your pencil to create darkness. There should not be any harsh lines, you need to blend the shading together. Look at the shiny surface of the Iron Man’s body and you need to keep the shiny, bright areas very light.
Watch this video that will show you how to shade a metallic, shiny surface like the Iron Man’s body:
