Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Wednesday 29th April 2020

Good Morning! smiley

I hope that you are all okay!

Please keep emailing your work in to 'kingsmith@greenfield.walsall.sch.uk'

Grammar

Today, we are going to be recapping our learning on expanded noun phrases because it has been a long time since we last covered this aspect of grammar and also because we need to use these in our setting description on Friday.

Below, you will find a Powerpoint that you need to look through to revise what an expanded noun phrase is and come up with your own examples. Then once you are familiar with this learning, you need to complete the activity sheet where you will be asked to improve and edit the sentences by using expanded noun phrases or prepositional phrases.

Maths

Red, Orange, Yellow and Green - Today you will be learning to subtract fractions. Follow this link (https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-3/) to a video that should explain things clearly for you. Click ‘Summer Term - Week 2’ > ‘Lesson 2’ and watch the video. Attached is a PowerPoint to work through with an adult so that you understand the methods for working out the answers. Once you have worked through the PowerPoint, you must have a go at answering the questions independently (ask an adult for help if you get stuck).

Blue 2: Today you will be learning to divide by 10. You need to remember to count in 10’s to find the answer e.g. 60 ÷ 10 - you need to count in 10’s till you get to 60, how many times did you have to count up till you reached 60?There is a clue in the tens column. Attached is a PowerPoint to work through with an adult so that you understand the methods for working out the answers. Once you have worked through the PowerPoint, you must have a go at answering the questions independently (ask an adult for help if you get stuck).

Blue 1: Today you will be learning to compare mass. Attached is a PowerPoint to work through with an adult so that you understand the methods for working out the answers. Once you have worked through the PowerPoint, you must have a go at answering the questions independently (ask an adult for help if you get stuck).

Geography

Today you are going to learn all about the British Isles. To begin with, I would like you to read through the PowerPoint. Once you have done this, I would like you to open the document 'British Isles Labelling,’ in which you need to label (if you have a printer) or identify the countries, capital cities and flags of the British Isles.

After that, I would like you to open the document labelled ‘Compass Questions’ and use the different points on the compass to identify where different oceans and countries of the British Isles are, in relation to each other. You can write or say your answers to a grown up at home.
