  • Read the pages

  • Clarify the meaning of words you didn’t know

  • Answer the questions

  • Summarise

Literacy

This week in Literacy, you will be writing a setting description of the Borrower’s underground home. Today’s focus is going to be collecting vocabulary that will help us when writing sentences that describe the appearance and size of the objects inside the Borrower's home.

Take a look at this video and follow along with the tasks: https://teachers.thenational.academy/lessons/to-develop-a-rich-understanding-of-words-associated-with-large-objects-6ru68d

When you have completed the tasks on the video, I would like you to make a word bank of exciting adjectives you can include in your setting description. You can use an online thesaurus to find synonyms for your describing words so they sound more exciting. Follow this link for an online thesaurus: https://www.thesaurus.com/

When making your word bank, you must think carefully about the senses when describing the setting. Be sure to include exciting adjectives for things you can see, hear, feel, smell and taste in their home. Attached is an example of a word bank for a setting description, but remember that your adjectives must be describing the Borrower’s underground home.

Maths

Today, we are going to learn to calculate fractions of a quantity. This is new learning.

Here is the link to a video that will teach you everything you need to know for this lesson, just as I would teach you in class: https://vimeo.com/511499873

After you have watched the video, have a go at answering the questions on the attached worksheet. Afterwards, you can mark your answers and ask a grown up to go through any mistakes you made that you don’t know how to correct.

Attached is a true or false for you to answer. Work through it and explain your answers. This is just a discussion to have with somebody else, you do not need to write anything down.

Green/Yellow-Start from Q5.

Orange- Start from Q3

Red- Start from Q1

PSHE

This week in PSHE, you are going to be thinking about how to resolve conflicts and respect someone else’s views and opinions.

Two key words in today’s lesson are conflict and compromise. Have a read through today’s lesson PowerPoint to learn about what these words mean. The rest of your tasks are explained in the lesson PowerPoint.
