Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Wednesday

It’s Wednesday so time for some yoga. Today we have a Pokemon battle here!

For today’s learning we have…

RWI

One lesson will show at 9.30am each day and be available for 24 hours.

If you are in Mrs Daniel’s RML group you will need to watch set 1. If you are in Ms Ellson’s or Mrs Riley’s RML group you will need to watch the Set 2 Speed sounds, word time and spelling videos. You should watch these every day.

I have attached the link here.

Literacy

I hope you enjoyed Wolves yesterday. Did you notice it is a picture book? The whole story is told through the fantastic pictures Emily Gravett has drawn. The words are from the book that rabbit is reading about wolves.

Today we are going to tell the story that happened to rabbit the day he went to the library. When we write the sentences, we ae going to concentrate on making sure we are using:

  • capital letters to start a sentence and full stops to end a sentence (you may need to use an ! to show how someone is feeling or a ?)
  • using adjectives (describing words) in our sentences
  • using conjunctions in some of your sentences – and, but, because, so, when

You can choose which ending you want to use for your writing.

Click on the video to see how I have started my story. The rest of the pictures are on the video so you will only need a pencil and paper to write your story.

If you want to write the sentences next to the pictures, I have also added the worksheet so you can do this.

Don’t forget to read through and check your work when you have finished. Have you included some of the things on the check list?

Blue group. I would like you to write colourful sentences next to each picture. I have included a colourful sentence word mat to help you on the activity sheet.

I look forward to seeing your writing.

Maths

Today your learning will be on counting in 5s. Can you remember how to count in 5s? Yes? That’s right 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40

We count in 5s as it’s a quicker way to count but also because some things come in 5s like dots on a dice.

You should all be great at this as we learnt this before half-term.

Watch this video to complete your learning.

Now, Can you answer the questions on the worksheet; colour in the 5s on your grid first. Do you notice a pattern? Some questions may ask you to count back in 5s so use your number grids.

Blue group:

Today our learning will be on counting to 10. For your warm-up, I would like you to write the numbers 1-10 as shown in the table. For your task, you will be counting the number of dinosaurs and circling the correct number on the side.

D.T/Art

For this DT lesson you will be using the Oak Academy learning video and activity to learn about and investigate the suitability of a material.

Last time we learnt that a material is what something is made from. We also found out that materials have different properties. Take a look at this material word mat to remind yourselves of some of the key vocabulary we learnt.

Did you know some of these materials and key words from last time?

In this lesson, we will be investigating the suitability of a material. We will be recording all of the different materials and testing to see whether they can bend and stand up by itself.

You only need some paper, some card and a pencil to complete this learning!

We are taking part in lesson 4 as we are carrying on from lesson 3 which we completed last time!

Click this link to watch the learning video and join in with the different activities as you go along.

I have attached the worksheet below too so that you can have it before you start the lesson.
