Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Wednesday

Reading

Today’s reading pages are 17-19. Please work through the Reading PowerPoint and complete today’s written task. The chapter is attached below.

Here is the order we usually follow in class for Reciprocal Reading:

  • Predict (sensible guess)

  • Read the pages

  • Clarify the meaning of words you didn’t know

  • Answer the questions

  • Summarise

Literacy

Today, you are going to be reminding yourselves of the features of a diary entry, as this week we are going to be writing one of our own. Our diary will be from the point of view of Hogarth, the new character we have been introduced to in Chapter 2 of ‘The Iron Man’.

First read through the PowerPoint that has been attached and familiarise yourself with the features you will need to include in your diary entry. Then, your task is to identify these features in the attached diary entry.

Work through the PowerPoint with a grown up and then identify the features independently.

Maths

Today you are learning to multiply 3 digits by 1 digit. You can use your skills from the last two days to help you with this.

Here is the link to a video which will teach you everything you need to know for this lesson, just as I would teach you in class:

https://vimeo.com/492456871

After you have watched the video, have a go at answering the questions on the attached worksheet. Afterwards, you can mark your answers and ask a grown up to go through any mistakes you made that you don’t know how to correct.

Attached is a true or false for you to answer. Work through it and explain your answers. This is just a discussion to have with somebody else you do not need to write anything down.

Computing

In computing this week I would like you to send an email to me.

My email address is below, please do this by yourself although a parent can be next to you to tell you what to do if you are stuck.

Tell me all about the home learning that you have been completing and what you have enjoyed and haven’t quite enjoyed.

I will reply to you when I open my emails. If possible continue emailing me whilst you are learning from home. This will help you to become confident with emailing whilst also giving me a chance to talk to you and see how you are getting on.

Please email me at

cowell@greenfield.walsall.sch.uk

This will also get us ready for our next computing lesson.
