Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Wednesday

Good morning Troughton class! smiley

Wasn't yesterday a lovely day! laugh I had a long walk and enjoyed the sunshine! I hope you are looking forward to another sunny day.

Reading

Miss Meakin has very kindly found and shared another online story that you can read to practise your super reading skills! This book is all about a lazy giant! What other stories do you know with a giant in them?

This book might take you longer to read. It is split up into 5 short chapters, so you could read a chapter a day. (Unless you get caught up in it, and want to finish it to see what happens!) At the back of the book it tells you a little bit about the author and there are some questions you could talk through with a grown up.

I hope you enjoy it. Let me know how you get on.

Maths: Red, Orange, Yellow & Green groups

Today we will be comparing measurements.

Just like yesterday, you will need to work out which numbers are the largest or smallest. You must look at the tens digit to see how many tens there are in each of the numbers. If both numbers have the same tens digit then look at the ones digit to see if you can find out which number is the greatest. This will help you solve the different problems.

Maths: Blue group

Today we are going to be measuring the length of objects using cubes. You can use lots of different things to measure length, we could use sticks, pencils, rubbers, cubes, hands or feet. You'll need to use really GOOD LOOKING and CAREFUL COUNTING. laugh

Literacy

Today you need to watch the story of Anansi carefully so that you can answer some questions. Are you sitting comfortably?

Blue & Red group – Read the words and match them to the correct picture and then answer the questions.

Orange, Yellow & Green group - Try to answer the questions in complete sentences.

Art

This term we have been learning about sculpture. Today we are going to learn about another sculptor, Amedeo Modigliani, who also enjoyed drawing his art. Your task today is to draw yourself or someone in your family in the style of this sculptor.

Click on the power point first to learn about Amedeo Modigliani, then click the worksheet to follow the instruction of drawing a face, there is an outline of a face on the last page if you would like to use it.

I look forward to seeing your pictures.
