Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Wednesday 15th July 2020

Good morning,

I hope you are well.

On Friday, I am planning to do an 'end of year zoom party'. This will be no longer than 30 minutes long and your child may take part if they wish. They can have snacks while we are on screen and it will be a time where we play games, chat and wish each other a nice 6 week break as it will be the last time that we will all see each other before returning in September.

I will send out the login details of this Zoom meeting, on Thursday via email. I am thinking of holding the Zoom meeting at 4 pm to allow any children who may be at school to participate too, if they wish.

Kind regards

Miss Sharpe

Reciprocal Reading

Today, we are going to begin reading chapter 16 of Nim’s Island.

Once you have read today’s pages, I would like you to answer these comprehension questions in full sentences using the evidence from the text to help you.

Q1) Why did Alex Rover hate Jack?

Q2) How did Alex Rover’s opinion change after she eventually saw Jack come back to the island?

Q3) Why do you think Nim and Alex found it so funny that Jack had found a coconut raft?

Q4) Write a list of all the things that Nim, Jack and Alex did over the next week to help the island be clean once again.

Q5) Why did Jack not want to build a new hut on the island?

Literacy

Today, we are going to be recapping grammar, punctuation and spelling skills we have learnt. I would like you to click on your groups sheet and have a go at the SPaG revision/recap mat. You may do this on paper if you do not have a printer.

Maths

Today you are going to continue revising the topics we have covered so that you remember everything ready for Year 4 learning. There are 2 revision mats that I would like you to have a go at.  Remember, this is all learning that we have covered in class so you should understand the concepts. If you don’t have a printer, write the answers on a piece of paper with the question number in the margin.

End of Year

As we reach the end of year 3, I would like us to reflect on our year. Although it was sadly cut short, I would still like to know some of your best moments and memories of year 3.

Below is a sheet which you can fill in by drawing pictures, writing key words and colouring it in, beautifully.

Send me a picture of your sheet so I can hear about some of your best moments and memories.
