Rise and shine guys, let’s get moving with this great song, it’s all about patterns, let’s see if you can keep up… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQ9q4U2P3ig

For today’s learning we have…

Set 1 sounds at 9:30am

Set 2 sounds at 10:00am

Set 3 sounds at 10:30am

They have updated these lessons to include word time for set 1 speed sounds and spelling for set 2 and 3.

There is also “Storytime with Nick” three times a week (Mon, Wed & Fri at 2pm) and some poems that your child can learn and perform.

SPaG

I have attached a SPaG mat below for you to complete. Try to complete this independently.

Literacy

Today we are going to look at spelling plurals.

Plural means more than one.

For most nouns (naming words) we just add ‘s’ to make the plural.

one cat                  lots of cats

                                                    one dog                       two dogs

For nouns ending in ch, sh, s or x a we add “es”

one glass                three glasses

                                                   one torch          five torches

Watch the video to find out more about plurals

Now click on the worksheet to practise your spelling learning.

Maths

This morning we have a maths warm up to get our brains working, try to complete this independently.

G/Y/R/O groups:

Yesterday we partitioned numbers by writing the tens and ones, today we are going to be partitioning numbers using dienes, these are actual tens and ones. Do you remember when we used them in class? Watch this video first and then have a go at the activity.

Remember to practise your times tables with Times Tables Rock Stars.

Blue group:

Today you are using your careful counting to help with adding 2 amounts. Count the pictures carefully, remember to cross it out when you’ve counted it, out the answer in the box then add the 2 amounts together. Use your fingers to help you.

Try adding these 2 amounts in this game:

Geography

This is our last Geography lesson this year! I have really enjoyed learning about Australia and I hope you have too. Today you will be learning about Sydney, a city in Australia.

Look through the power point to find out some key facts then I have made a quiz for you to answer to see how much you learnt about Sydney!
I am going to include an answer sheet too so perhaps your grownup can check your answers for you!
