Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Tuesday 5th May

Rise and shine guys, let’s get moving with this great song, it’s all about patterns, let’s see if you can keep up… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQ9q4U2P3ig

For today’s learning we have…

RWI

Remember to practise your sounds daily. RWI will be holding daily virtual lessons for children to practise their sounds:

Set 1 sounds at 9:30am

Set 2 sounds at 10:00am

Set 3 sounds at 10:30am

They have updated these lessons to include word time for set 1 speed sounds and spelling for set 2 and 3.

There is also “Storytime with Nick” three times a week (Mon, Wed & Fri at 2pm) and some poems that your child can learn and perform.

SPaG

Today we are practising putting exclamation and question marks in the correct places. I have made you all a log on for www.spag.com you will need to email me to gain access to this if you haven’t already. There is an activity for you to complete on there. Remember I can check in and see how you get on as well.

Literacy

Today you are going to watch a story about a man called Mr Gumpy. This book was written by John Burningham. He has written lots of children’s books. Can you find out some more books he has written? Perhaps you have some of his books at home or you have read some of his books before?

Mr Gumpy decides to go for a ride in his motor car. It's a nice day and the sun is shining, so off he goes. Watch Mr Gumpy’s Motor Car.

When you have finished watching, I would like you to read the sentences on the sheet attached below and put the story events in the correct order. When you have done that you can draw your own pictures to show me what happens on Mr Gumpy’s drive.

Maths

G/Y/R/O groups:

For our maths warm up let’s test those brains with some fact families: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/number-facts/number-fact-families

Your learning for today is all about fact families. We have practised switchers in the classroom so you know facts like this:

10 + 8 = 18

8 + 10 = 18

18 – 10 = 8

18 – 8 = 10

Using facts like this can you fill in the questions on the worksheet I’ve attached?

Remember to practise your times tables with Times Tables Rock Stars.

Blue group:

Let’s start off by counting as we collect carrots in our car. Can you collect all 50? https://pbskids.org/curiousgeorge/busyday/drive/

Your learning today is sharing amounts. Can you count how many leaves or children you have first then share them equally between the dinosaurs or busses. Remember to say “one for you, one for you” and cross off the child or leaf when you’ve used it. Remember to form your letters correctly.

Geography

Today we are going to be building on learning we did in class about Australia. We already learnt about extreme weather in Australia and you completed a weather journal a couple of weeks ago. Think about your weather journal as you learn about the Outback today and what the weather is like there.

Click the link below to learn about The Northern Territory of Australia:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zyhp34j/articles/zf26rj6

Once you have watched the video see if you can answer the questions on your worksheet all about the Northern Territory.

When you get to the challenge, that's when you need to think back to your weather diary.
