Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Tuesday

Reading

Can you remember what happened in the first part of 'The Kitten That Disappeared'?

Today we are going to read pages 4 and 5.

Work through the power point like yesterday and answer the questions as you go along. Any Talk To Your Partner parts see if you can tell someone at home your ideas.

Maths

In Maths this week we are learning about Fractions.
First of all watch and join in with the video on the link below to remind yourself of what parts and wholes are.

https://vimeo.com/516649884

Once you have finished watching the video, complete the fraction wall activity . This will help you understand parts and whole.

For your main learning you need to match the fraction pictures to the written fractions.

Writing

Last week we watched a video clip that was related to The Way Back Home by Oliver Jeffers. Today we are going to look at the book.

You can see the book in the video below:

These are the main events from the story:

Opening – Boy finds aeroplanes

Build up – Boy goes into space. Martian in space

Problem – Both stuck on moon

Events – Boy returns to earth to get things to fix vehicles. Returns to moon, Vehicles fixed

Ending – Say goodbye. Both go home. Boy gets a gift from Martian.

For your main activity you will read and number statements to sequence events in story, list characters and describe the settings by saying where they are and some adjectives to describe the settings.

Art

For your Art learning this afternoon, use the step by step guide that is attached to draw your own rocket.
Remember when you sketch to press down lightly so you can easily make changes.

Add colour and your own features to your final design.

Imagine you are designing a rocket for the boy from our story to travel to the moon in. smiley
