Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Tuesday 31st March

Tuesday

It’s terrific Tuesday! Morning to all of Carle class. A big thank you to all the emails we are getting. Looking through the pictures, work and comments you are sending are genuinely the highlights of our day. Please remember this week we want to hear from all parents. Drop us a quick email and keep letting us know what you are getting up to.

RWI

Remember to practise your sounds daily. RWI will be holding daily virtual lessons for children to practise their sounds:

Set 1 sounds at 9:30am or 12:30pm

Set 2 sounds at 10:00am or 1:00pm

Literacy

Today we are going to use those story maps we made yesterday. Can you retell the story using your map? We now want you to use the story map to write some simple sentences about the story. What happens to bunny? What does he meet? For example ‘The bunny met a chick.’ Don’t forget the checklist we use in class when writing. Have you used your Fred fingers to spell words? Have you got finger spaces between your words? Are your letters well formed? If you notice a letter is the wrong way you could practice that to!

Maths

Let’s get those maths brains switched on. Show me big jumps up to 20. Find some paper or something you can write on, put one number on each piece of paper as today we are going to order numbers 0-20. Let an adult mix them all up and see if you can put them back in the correct order.

Today is Easter Egg number bonds to 10 or 20 or higher- that’s up to you. Write one half of the egg for your child, they can draw or use objects to find the number bond to 10 or 20 or higher if you want to.  You can make this using paper and a pen or it is available to print and cut up for free off Twinkl.

Let’s finish our maths lesson singing our days of the week song-it is with ‘The Adams Family’ theme tune.

Days of the week (clap clap)

Days of the week (clap clap)

Days of the week, days of the week, days of the week (clap clap)

There’s Sunday and there’s Monday

There’s Tuesday and there’s Wednesday

There’s Thursday and there’s Friday

And then there’s Saturday

Days of the week (clap clap)

Days of the week (clap clap)

Days of the week, days of the week, days of the week (clap clap)

Topic

We’re going on a listening walk. At the bottom of the page you will find attached a learning sheet about listening to sounds around us. When bunny goes on the egg hunt he hears lots of different noises. In your house and garden what are some of the noises you can hear? Remember we don’t want the sheet returned to school but you could draw or write about what you hear. If you finish that why don’t you use any recycling you have to make musical instruments! See what noises you can make then! As always don’t forget to take some pictures and send them in!
