Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Tuesday 23rd June

Rise and shine guys, let’s get moving with this lovely summery song, one of my favourites that is for sure! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GeYONw5DMo

For today’s learning we have…

RWI

Remember to practise your sounds daily. RWI will be holding daily virtual lessons for children to practise their sounds:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo7fbLgY2oA_cFCIg9GdxtQ?fbclid=IwAR39rYFTLfrdQlPjkysNElqx0fheLwYjbK7LVlBZtbEm_Yuv9BvsbtL6ziI

Set 1 sounds at 9:30am

Set 2 sounds at 10:00am

Set 3 sounds at 10:30am

They have updated these lessons to include word time for set 1 speed sounds and spelling for set 2 and 3.

There is also “Storytime with Nick” three times a week (Mon, Wed & Fri at 2pm) and some poems that your child can learn and perform.

SPaG

I have attached a SPaG mat below for you to complete. Try to complete this independently.

Literacy

Today we are going to look at ir (whirl and twirl) ur (nurse with a purse) and er (a better letter)

Look at these words where does the ir sound come in the word?

bird     girl

Look at these words where does the er sound come in the word?

kerb     term

Look at these words where does the ur sound come in the word?

burst     turn

Now have a go at this “ir, er, ur” spelling game

https://www.spellzone.com/word_lists/games-1196.htm Click on the link, find the egg hunt game and click on it. You need to click the single player link and then you can start the game.

You have to click on the eggs to spell the words from the list.

Now click on the document and practise your spelling.

I would like you to read the words then sort the words. When you have done that, I would like you to add the sound buttons to each word.

Maths

This morning we have a maths warm up to get our brains working, try to complete this independently.

G/Y/R/O groups:

Yesterday we learnt what ½ a shape looks like. Today we are going to be learning about ½ of an amount or a number. To find ½ of set of objects we need to divide the set in to two equal groups. Watch the link below and then click on the worksheet for your group.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_Jvi97snfQ

Remember to practise your times tables with Times Tables Rock Stars.

Blue group:

Yesterday we learnt about ½ can you remember what this means? Your learning today is finding half of pictures. Remember they have to match.

Geography

In our last Geography lesson we learnt about Aboriginal people.
This week we are learning about the Great Barrier Reef! Read through the power point to learn lots of interesting facts.

Did you spot the clown fish? Who did that remind you of?

You have 2 choices for your activity today. You can make a poster about recycling and trying to use less plastic and how this will protect the Great Barrier Reef OR you can create a leaflet about The Great Barrier Reef. I have attached a leaflet document to help you know how to set a leaflet out.
