Tuesday

Rise and shine guys, let’s get moving with the Exercise, Rhyme and Freeze dance here.

For today’s learning we have…

RWI

One lesson will show at 9.30am each day and be available for 24 hours.

If you are in Mrs Daniel’s RML group you will need to watch set 1. If you are in Ms Ellson’s or Mrs Riley’s RML group you will need to watch the Set 2 Speed sounds, word time and spelling videos. You should watch these every day.

I have attached the link here.

Literacy

Today we are going to revise some of the grammar we have been learning this year.

We have learnt so much

Over the next two weeks we are going to look at a new story. It is written by Janet and Allen Ahlberg. They have written many stories for children. The year 1 class is named after these authors.

Have you read any books by Janet and Allan Ahlberg?

This is the front cover of the book we will be looking at. Can you see the title and the names of the authors?

What is a cop? What is a robber? Tell your grown up.

Look at the front cover. Can you spot who are the cops and who are the robbers?

Do you remember what a blurb is?

Yes, it tells us a little bit about the story. It tries to grab our attention to make us read the book!  You find a blurb usually on the back cover of the book.

Here is the blurb for cops and robbers.

The robbers of London town plan a desperate crime on Christmas Eve - to steal all the toys they can lay their hands on! Fortunately, the robbers meet their match in brave Officer Pugh who leaps into action and arrests the villains - all except Grandma Swagg who manages to get away.

Today you are going to answer questions just about this blurb.

I would also like you to tell me if you think you will enjoy this story just from reading the blurb and give me a reason for your opinion.

Blue group – I would like you to look at the robbers in this story. Look at this picture. What can you see? What can you see in each room? What are the robbers doing? Today I want you to write sentences about what you can see. I have written the first sentence for you.

Maths

Today our learning is about sorting 3D shapes. Complete the warm-up at the top of the worksheet where you will count the different 3D shapes.

Do you remember the shapes you learnt about yesterday? Can you remember their names?

Today we will sort 3D shapes by the way they look. Complete the worksheet where you will sort the shapes out.

Blue group:

For our warm up, I would like you to sing along the counting to 10 song Click here

Can you write the missing numbers up to 5?

Now, I would like you to match 3D shape to a real life object.

Geography

Geography Overview – Climates

In our geography learning today we will be learning about climates! Watch the video clip Click here to find out the difference between the weather and the climate!

We need to know what polar, tropical and desert climates are and what each of these climates are like. Take a look at the videos below to see what you can find out. Look closely at what the land looks like and what is said about the temperature and rainfall in these different climates.

Now take a look at the power point below to help you learn even more!

For your main activity today you are going to answer some questions about what you have learnt. Click on your worksheet below.

The sheet called: labelled climate zone map will help you colour the climate zones if you are unsure, this is also in the power point too.

Blue group: You are going to colour a world map to show the different climate zones around the world.
