R.E.

Zakat is the third pillar of Islam, it’s all about charity.  Think about a time when you have received a gift and how it made you feel.  How do you think the person that gave you the gift felt?

During the month of Ramadan (which is when a Muslim fasts, we will learn more about this next week) and Eid (a very important time for Muslims) they give gifts of food and money to those less fortunate than themselves.

These people are written about by Allah in the Qu’ran and include, the needy, the poor, to help those in debt and owe money or goods to others.  It is also used to support hospitals and other good causes and to encourage other people to follow the Muslim faith.

Doing this helps Muslims to feel good and to be good Muslims.

Take a look at the R.E. PowerPoint then complete separate R.E. Task.
