Below you will find all the learning for today. This includes reading, writing, maths and a foundation subject (Science, Geography, History, R.E, Computing, art or Design Technology). The coloured activities should be completed if your child is in that group in class. All reading texts and worksheets can be found at the bottom of the page, some reading texts will be posted Monday for use all week. 

 

Reading 

Graphic Novel: Macbeth - Murder! - pictures 12 - 15

Predict - Who might be able to work out what the Macbeths have done? What will this person do next? What will Lord and Lady Macbeth do next?

Clarify

Question -

1. The lady in the pictures around the edge of the page says "she's more wicked than the witches." Who is she talking about and what does she mean?

2. Find and copy a word that shows Macbeth is still not keen to kill the King. 

3. Another person around the edge says "one death always leads to another." What do you think this could mean for our story?

Summary - Who is the most evil character in the story so far? This is your own choice but needs to have proof from the story to back up your ideas. 

 

Writing - Shakespeare - Macbeth - Spelling

Introduction - ask an adult to test you on your spelling words from last week. 

 

In today's lesson  we will explore spellings with Greek etymology (origin), including words with the letter patterns 'ch', 'ph' and 'sc', look at the meaning of these words. Click here for your learning video, work through the video, pausing as requested to practise the spelling words.

 

Green and Yellow - Complete the activity in the lesson.

Orange and Red - Complete the activity in the lesson.

Blue - Complete the activity in the lesson.

 

Maths - Decimals as fractions

Today we are learning to write decimal numbers as fractions. Please click

Green and Yellow - Complete all questions

Orange and Red - Complete questions 1 - 3, then challenge yourself with 4 and 5

Blue - You are completing your last lesson on addition and subtraction. Today you will need to use your rounding skills to help you estimate an answer. You can then add or subtract in a column to check your estimate. Click here for your video and your worksheet, as always is at the bottom of the page.

 

Foundation - Art

 

Today we are going to look at another artwork by Banksy. To begin with I would like you to watch this video of when one of his very valuable painting was put up for sale. It was found out that Banksy had organised this to happen - what do you think he is trying to say about the value of any piece of art.

Now it is your turn to copy the painting, send me a photograph, I would like to see your version of The Balloon Girl'
