Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Today, you will continue Chapter 2 in ‘The Iron Man’. Today’s reading pages are page 13 ‘... the rain as fast as he could, homeward’ - 16

Work through the Reading PowerPoint and complete today’s written task. The chapter is attached below.

Here is the order we usually follow in class for Reciprocal Reading:

  • Predict (sensible guess)

  • Read the pages

  • Clarify the meaning of words you didn’t know

  • Answer the questions

  • Summarise

Today you are going to practise some of your common exception word spellings. You are going to practise using the pyramid method, as this form of repetition will help you to remember the correct spelling.

Attached is an example of how to use the pyramid method to practise your spellings. The words you are going to practise are below, according to your group for writing.

bicycle, centre, disappear, exercise, pretty, improve, whole, clothes

Today you are carrying on learning to multiply 2 digits by 1 digit.

Here is the link to a video which will teach you everything you need to know for this lesson, just as I would teach you in class:

After you have watched the video, have a go at answering the questions on the attached worksheet. Afterwards, you can mark your answers and ask a grown up to go through any mistakes you made that you don’t know how to correct.

Attached is a true or false for you to answer. Work through it and explain your answers.

Today we are going to begin an art task that will take 2 lessons to complete.

In school, we were practising our sketching and shading skills. We learnt that everything we draw is based around shapes and the use of straight and curved lines.

Today’s task is to sketch a picture of the Iron Man. Think carefully about the different shapes you can use to sketch the different parrots of his body. Blend these shapes together using straight and curved lines.

Next week you will use your shading skills to shade inside your sketch to give the effect of the surface of the Iron Man’s body being shiny and smooth.
