Maths 

Year 1:  This morning we have a maths warm up to get our brains working, try to complete this independently.  

Today we are going to be continuing our learning on capacity. How many cups of water can fit in to one container? Remember to read the questions carefully.

Blue group: Your learning today is all about the months of the year. Watch this song first and then try putting the months of the year in the right order.

Year 2: Today’s learning is counting in pounds. You will have to count in multiples again. Here’s a reminder of how to count in multiples:
2s – 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20

5s – 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50

10s – 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100

You will be counting the total amount of money, then your final task will use your comparing skills that we practised recently.
When you move onto the challenge remember to show your working out as this is your evidence.

Year 2 – Today we are going to be looking at adjectives ending in y with the suffix er and est.

A suffix is a letter or group of letters that goes on the end of a word and changes the word's meaning.

When we add er or est to words that end in y we need to drop the y and add i then add er or est. For example happy – happier, happiest

Today we are going to find out about the life of Queen Victoria. She was Queen over 200 years ago and was Queen for 63 years.

I would like you to watch this to find out more about her. There is a quiz after about her.

Now I would like you to look at portraits of Queen Victoria when she was young and when she was older and draw your own portrait of her. I have attached a frame for you to draw your portrait in or you can use your own piece of paper.
