Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Tuesday

Good morning Troughton class! laugh

I hope you are well and happy. I have enjoyed seeing some of your super learning from yesterday and I look forward to seeing how you get on today. smiley

Reading

Today I would like you to ask your grown up to choose a book for you to read to them.
Ask your grown up why they like this story/book. laugh

Maths: Red, Orange, Yellow & Green groups

Today you will be looking more closely at the multiplication symbol.

Red/Orange

1a and 1b: Look at the pictures to help you write the repeated addition number sentence, then you need to write the multiplication number sentence using the X symbol.

2a and 2b: You must say which calculation is the correct one.

3a and 3b: Look really closely and see if the picture is showing what the sentence says. If it doesn’t can you say why?

4a and 4b: Put the correct numbers into the boxes to make the number sentences correct.

Yellow/Green

5a and 5b: Look at the pictures to help you write the repeated addition number sentence, then you need to write the multiplication number sentence using the X symbol.

6a and 6b: Say which calculation is the correct one.

7a and 7b: Draw a picture to show the multiplication stories, like when you drew the monsters.

8a and 8b: Complete the stem sentences by looking at the pictures and putting the correct numbers in the boxes.

Maths: Blue group

Your learning for today is all about fact families. We have practised switchers in the classroom so you know facts like this:

10 + 8 = 18

8 + 10 = 18

18 – 10 = 8

18 – 8 = 10

Using facts like this can you fill in the questions on the worksheet I’ve attached?

Literacy: All groups

Today you are going to watch a story abut a man called Mr Gumpy. This book was written by John Burningham. He has written lots of children’s books.

Can you find out some more books he has written?

Perhaps you have some of his books at home or you have read some of his books before?

Mr Gumpy decides to go for a ride in his motor car. It's a nice day and the sun is shining, so off he goes. Watch Mr Gumpy’s Motor Car.

When you have finished watching, I would like you to read the sentences on the sheet and put the story events in the correct order. When you have done that, draw your own pictures to show me what happens on Mr Gumpy’s drive.

Geography

Your Geography learning this week is building on learning we did in class about Australia. We already learnt about extreme weather in Australia and you completed a weather journal a couple of weeks ago. Think about your weather journal as you learn about the Outback today and what the weather is like there!

Click the link below to learn about The Northern Territory of Australia:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zyhp34j/articles/zf26rj6

Once you have watched the video, see if you can answer the questions on your worksheet all about the Northern Territory.

When you get to the challenge, that's when you need to think back to your weather diary.
