Literacy

I have a pointy fin on my back.

I have sharp teeth.

I eat other fish.

What am i?

I am a shark!

Read through the PowerPoint and see if you can guess the animals. Then can you have a go at writing your own clues?

Does each sentence make sense? Have you used your Fred fingers to spell words? Have you got finger spaces between your words? Are your letters well formed? Have you got a full stop at the end of each sentence? Is your writing clear and readable?

Maths

Good morning children, this week in maths we are learning about length, height and distance. Let’s start our maths off with recalling doubles, double 1 is 2, double 2 is 4, double 3 is 6 and double 4 is 8.

Today we are learning about length of objects. Attached is a caterpillar worksheet. There is a caterpillar called Connor, can you sort the other caterpillars to find out which ones are longer and shorter than Connor? Can you sort the caterpillars into sets? Can you order them shortest to longest?

Let’s finish off our maths with counting out objects from a larger group. Get a large group of counting objects and ask your child to get a certain amount of the pile, with them counting each object as they take it out.

Topic

Read the story of the Rainbow fish. What happens to him? Why was he sad? Would you share your scales? Why should you share?

Decorate the attached rainbow fish using any materials you have at home. Or create one of your own. Don’t forget his shiny scales.
