Rise and shine guys, let’s get moving! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpz36D0WaDg

Who doesn’t love that song? It’s amazing!

For today’s learning we have…

RWI

Remember to practise your sounds daily. RWI will be holding daily virtual lessons for children to practise their sounds:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo7fbLgY2oA_cFCIg9GdxtQ?fbclid=IwAR39rYFTLfrdQlPjkysNElqx0fheLwYjbK7LVlBZtbEm_Yuv9BvsbtL6ziI

Set 1 sounds at 9:30am

Set 2 sounds at 10:00am

Set 3 sounds at 10:30am

They have updated these lessons to include word time for set 1 speed sounds and spelling for set 2 and 3.

There is also “Storytime with Nick” three times a week (Mon, Wed & Fri at 2pm) and some poems that your child can learn and perform.

SPaG

I have attached a SPaG mat below for you to complete. Try to complete this independently.

Literacy

Today we are going to look at ore, au (Paul the astronaut) and aw (yawn at dawn)

Look at these words where does the ore sound come in the word?

more   wore

Look at these words where does the au sound come in the word?

haul    launch

Look at these words where does the aw sound come in the word?

yawn     dawn

Now have a go at this “aw” spelling game

https://www.spellzone.com/word_lists/games-297.htm

Click on the link, find the egg hunt game and click on it. You need to click the single player link and then you can start the game.

You have to click on the eggs to spell the words.

Now click on the document and practise your spelling.

I would like you to read the words then sort the words. When you have done that, I would like you to add the sound buttons to each word.

Maths

This morning we have a maths warm up to get our brains working, try to complete this independently.

G/Y/R/O groups:

Today we are going to be making equal groups, you must remember to make equal groups by counting how many there are in each group and drawing a circle around them, then count the groups carefully.

Remember to practise your times tables with Times Tables Rock Stars.

Blue group:

Your learning today is repeating patterns, remember to read the pattern first: “orange, blue, orange, blue”…then choose the right picture to go next. Remember to read the pattern again before choosing the next picture. Here is a game to put your learning to the test: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/ordering-and-sequencing/shape-patterns

History

Today we are going to find out about a heroine who lived a long time ago. A heroine is a woman who has done something brave or good. The person we are going to find out about is Grace Darling.

Grace Darling lived in the tiny Farne islands, off the coast of Northumberland.

I would like you to watch this to find out more about her.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/true-stories-grace-darling/z4y7pg8

When you have found out about her, try putting the key events of her life in order on a timeline.

Now you know more about her story I would like you to order the events of her famous rescue. You will need to look closely at the pictures.

When you have done that, I would like you to write a couple of sentences telling me why Grace

Darling was significant. That means why Grace Darling important.
