Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Thursday 7th May

Right guys, it’s Thursday and for a bit of fun today we have this fun song, it’s also a bit of a work out so keep up! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJPvEs8qpQc

For today’s learning we have…

RWI

Remember to practise your sounds daily. RWI will be holding daily virtual lessons for children to practise their sounds:

Set 1 sounds at 9:30am

Set 2 sounds at 10:00am

Set 3 sounds at 10:30am

They have updated these lessons to include word time for set 1 speed sounds and spelling for set 2 and 3.

There is also “Storytime with Nick” three times a week (Mon, Wed & Fri at 2pm) and some poems that your child can learn and perform.

SPaG

Today we are going to do some handwriting. See the worksheet I’ve attached and remember your lead ins and always start on the line. If you don’t have a printer you can practise them on a piece of paper at home.

Literacy

Today you are going to write a book review for Mr Gumpy’s Motor Car.

You will need to watch the story again.

Use the sentence starters on the worksheet to tell me what you thought about the book.

Maths

Our warm up is for all groups this morning, we are going to be measuring the length of objects. You can choose how difficult you make it for yourselves but remember to give yourself a challenge. https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/measuring-in-cm

G/Y/R/O groups:

Your learning for today is adding by counting on. There are lots of different ways we can add by counting on, we can use pictures, our fingers, number lines. Some of you might want to start with the biggest number first. Try hard to fill in the answers on the worksheet I’ve attached.

Remember to practise your times tables with Times Tables Rock Stars.

Blue group:

Let’s start off finding number 10-20. Listen carefully to the number that is said before clicking on the rocket. https://www.topmarks.co.uk/learning-to-count/blast-off

Your learning today is to find one less. Start off by counting the number on the number line at the top of the page. Read each number for each question carefully, find it on the number line and jump back 1 space to fine 1 less. Write the answer carefully in the box.

Topic

Tomorrow is VE day so I have attached some information and activities for you to explain why this day is important.

First you should read the power point to learn why people celebrate VE Day Then comes your choice, you can choose to answer one of the 'try this' tasks in the power point or you could choose one of the documents below to have a go at: design a teacup, design a medal or follow a VE day recipe (this will depend if you have any of the ingredients in your home).

You should choose one activity to do, you can do more than 1 if you want to OR even do another one tomorrow on VE day!

I look forward to seeing what you choose.
