Writing

Can you develop and write sentences using vocabulary about a setting description? Draw an image that comes to mind about the setting of Lost that you read in reading. Label it with vocabulary that comes to mind, try to expand your vocabulary beyond brown and tree. Use species and shade of colour, for example a gnarled oak trunk covered in lime green lichen.

Once complete write the number of sentences as per your groups description below.

Green and Yellow: write 6 sentences that use prepositions and expanded noun phrases to describe the woodland setting.

Orange and Red: write 4 sentences that use prepositions and expanded noun phrases to describe the woodland setting.

Blue: write 4 sentences that use positional words (on, under, next to) and adjectives (large, towering, dark) to describe the woodland setting.

Maths - Addition and Subtraction

Column addition and subtraction, you learnt how to do these before Christmas. Check here for a quick recap.

Green and Yellow: Try to have a go at the 3 star problems in the GYOR activity sheet pack. If you find these a bit tricky you can always do the 2 star problems first to build up your confidence.

Orange and Red: Try to have a go at the 2 star problems in the GYOR activity sheet pack. If you find these a bit tricky you can always do the 1 star problems first to build up your confidence. Remember difference means gap between (subtraction).

Blue: Try doing the B sheet below. Do not worry about doing them all. If you can do 6 of these then you have good skills. Get somebody at home to work with you, if you can.
