Greenfield Primary School

Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Thursday

Good morning. Here is today's learning.

Reading

For your reading today I would like you to read some non-fiction writing about a dinosaur at the Natural History Museum in London. Have you visited the museum? When you have read the information you can answer the questions about it. I have included the answers so you can check when you have finished.

Writing

Let’s carry on finding out about Winnie-the-Pooh for  your report writing tomorrow. So far, we have made notes about A A Milne and about the Hundred Acre Wood.

Today we need to find out about Winnie-the-Pooh! In the report you need to tell the reader what he looks like, what his personality is like and what he likes. Look at the power point from yesterday to find out about him. Make notes about:

  • what he looks like
  • what kind of bear he is
  • What he likes

Some of these short stories about Winnie-the-Pooh will help you as well.

Make your notes under the heading Winnie-the-Pooh or Pooh Bear.

The Mini Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: Pooh's Game

The Mini Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: Stuck at Rabbit's House

The Mini Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: The Rain Came Down

Maths

Today we are going to start our learning about fractions. Today we are going to see if we can recognise parts of a whole and equal parts.

Watch the video to help you with your learning and then complete the worksheet.

Design and Technology

This afternoon we will be starting our design and technology project. We will be designing and making a photgraph frame.

Before we do this though, we need to look at different phtograph frames. Look around your house. How many different photgraph frames can you find?

Look very carfully at them. How do they stand up? What do they look like? How easy it is to put a photograph in? Who would use it? What kind of picture is it for? Where would it stand?

You can have a look at the power point to look at phtograph frames too. Are they the same as the ones in your house?

For your activity I would like you to pick two phtograph frames to look at carefully and record what they look like on the worksheet.

I can;t wait to see what you find out!
