For today’s learning we have…

SPaG

Today we are practising our spellings, I’ve attached a worksheet for you, blue group you have a separate worksheet. Remember to use your Fred fingers to spell and take care with your letter formation.

Literacy

This week we are learning about the story of Giraffes Can’t Dance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZjsLK5vwNU

Today I would like you to write a character description of Gerald. I have attached a word mat to help you to decide what words describe Gerald best. There is also an example layout, again this is just an example, you can choose how to write your character description. I want you to tell me what Gerald looks like, what his personality is like and what he does. Remember to use

  • Capital letters
  • Full stops
  • Finger spaces
  • ‘and’ or ‘because’
  • As a challenge see if you can include a question (?) or exclamation sentence (!)

Maths

For our maths warm up let’s test those brains with some taking away; Up to 20 – minus 1 digit number: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/daily10

Today’s learning is counting on to add amounts.

G/Y/O/R: Remember with adding we can do switchers, so put the biggest amount in your head and count on the next amount using your fingers or the number lines.

Blue group remember to count carefully and form numbers correctly.

Remember to practise your times tables with Times Tables Rock Stars.

Art

This week we have been learning about Spring, can you choose a flower either in the garden if you have one or on the computer, place it in front of you and try sketching the flower. Take care with your lines, remember if you do them lightly then you can go over any mistakes. It’s not about colouring in, it’s about getting the right lines. Remember to hold the pencil at the end.

FUN CHALLENGE

Have you ever tried origami?  It is the art of paper folding. So, can you follow these instructions to make a fish?
