Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Thursday 25th June 2020

Good Morning

It is my birthday today. I hope that the weather stays nice for us all to get outside in our gardens. Enjoy your learning for today.

Stay Safe

Miss Sharpe.

Reciprocal Reading

Today you are going to continue reading chapter 8.

Today’s task is to write a summary of how Nim managed to get rid of the Troppo Tourists?

Remember a summary is 2 or 3 sentences that tell me about the key events that happened.

Literacy

Today, you are going to think about the ending of your story. You will need to plan for these questions:

  • What will happen to your characters after the problem is resolved?

  • How will they live at the end of the story - happily/miserably etc?

  • What will they plan to do in the future?

  • How are the characters feeling at the end of the story?

Maths

Red, Orange, Yellow and Green: Today you will be completing a Number and Place Value quiz using the learning that you revised yesterday and covered earlier in the year. An adult will need to read out the first set of questions for you to answer mentally. Be sure to not look at the answers as they are attached in the same document. If you don’t have a printer, write the answers on a piece of paper with the question number in the margin.

Blue 2: Today you will be learning to compare capacity. You will need to use your fraction knowledge to help you find the answer. Attached is a PowerPoint to work through with an adult so that you understand the methods for working out the answers. Once you have worked through the PowerPoint, you must have a go at answering the questions independently (ask an adult for help if you get stuck).

Blue 1: Today you will be learning to ‘find a part’. This means you will need to count on to find out how many more is needed to get to the answer. Attached is a PowerPoint to work through with an adult so that you understand the methods for working out the answers. Once you have worked through the PowerPoint, you must have a go at answering the questions independently (ask an adult for help if you get stuck).

Science

Now we have finished our learning about Plants, we are going to move onto learning about Animals. Today, I would like you to recap your learning about Animal groups, as this will help you in your new learning in Year 4.

I would like you to work through the attached PowerPoint, reading all the information about the different animal groups. Then, have a go at sorting the animals into the correct groups, using the information you have recapped. If you don’t have a printer, then just list the animals into the correct groups on paper.

What do you notice are the main differences between the different animal groups?

Your task:

Create a guide to help other people recognise different types of animals. This could be a poster or leaflet with the information needed for other people to recognise the different types of animal groups.
