Morning Carle Class. It’s thoughtful Thursday today. Why don’t you do something nice for someone in your house today? Tell your mum how brilliant they are or give your dad a hug.
RWI
From 1st June all lessons will be available daily at 9.30 am.
Se1 1, 2 and 3 speed sound lessons will restart.
Set 2 speed sound lessons will include new words for reading and spelling.
Literacy
Over the past couple of days you have been baking and decorating your own gingerbread man. Today we are going to write instructions on how we made them. Can you write the ingredients you used first? Then set out your instructions one step at a time. Don’t forget to use words like first, next, then. We use these so people know which order to do things.
Don’t forget the checklist we use in class when writing. Have you used your Fred fingers to spell words? Have you got finger spaces between your words? Are your letters well formed? If you notice a letter is the wrong way you could practice that to! Each sentence should start with a capital letter and end with a full stop.
Maths
Today we are going to start off by finding one more and one less on our number lines. Can you find 2 more and 2 less?
In Maths today we are going to order the items starting with the lightest to the heaviest. Attached is a sheet for you to cut out the objects and stick them down starting from the lightest to the heaviest. Which item would be the lightest and come first? Which item would be the heaviest? Look carefully with your adult to order them.
Let's finish off maths with a maths game, follow the link below. You can choose number bonds to 10, halves or doubles.

Topic
Today we are going to use any objects we can find to build a bridge for the gingerbread man so that he does not have to travel across the river on the fox. What objects do you have? Are they strong enough to hold the gingerbread man? What are bridges made out of? Have you seen any bridges on your walk?
