Below you will find all the learning for today. This includes reading, writing, maths and a foundation subject (Science, Geography, History, R.E, Computing, art or Design Technology). The coloured activities should be completed if your child is in that group in class. All reading texts and worksheets can be found at the bottom of the page, some reading texts will be posted Monday for use all week. 

 

Reading Today we are reading from the graphic novel. You need to look at pictures 8,9,10 and 11.

Predict - Which key parts of the story will be included in the illustrations.

  1. What are the names of King Duncan's sons?
  2. Find and copy a phrase which compares Lady Macbeth to the witches.
  3. Which thing in the story behaves in a supernatural way?
  4. Why do you think Lady Macbeth goes to the King's room? - use evidence from the text to support your answer.

Writing - Shakespeare: Macbeth - Plan a Setting Description

Watch today's lesson here, you will need a pen and something to write on. In this lesson, we will use a clip from Shakespeare's Animated Tales and pictures from the clip to plan adjectives, verbs, adverbs, figurative language and adverbial phrases for each section of the clip. These are all the skills that you have developed over the last 2 weeks. 

Green and Yellow - Plan a setting description that creates atmosphere with a sense of chaos and impending doom. Create images in the readers head using all the skills practised over the last 2 weeks. 

Orange and Red - Plan a setting description that creates images in the readers head using all the skills practised over the last 2 weeks. Try to use similar images to create a mood/atmosphere throughout your whole plan. 

Blue - Plan a setting description that creates images in the readers head using all the skills practised over the last 2 weeks. Focus on the use of adjectives, verbs, similes and adverbial phrases. 

 

Maths - Division: Multiply and Divide by 7

Using the introduction pages, at the bottom of this page, to test your skills and to show you how to use bars to show problems in picture form. The pictures can show 2 ways of drawing a problem:

7 divided by 7 boxes = 1 AND 7 divided(shared) into 1 box = 7. 

Green and Yellow - Complete the CS divide by 7 g_y sheet. 

Orange and Red - Complete the CS divide by 7 o_r sheet. 

Blue - Complete the WRM divide by 7 sheet.

Task 1 -

Use the world map sheet in the documents below, using the world map on this page - mark the location of Grassland biomes around the world. Use any search engine (Bing) to name the countries where these grasslands are found. 

Task 2

Using the Grassland Biome fact sheet - list 6 interesting facts about Grassland Biomes. Explain the types of animals and grasslands that can be found in various areas around the world.
