Year 2 Reading
Year 1 and Blue group
Today you are going to find the length of some objects by measuring them with objects like paper clips and cubes. Remember they have to be the same size. This way we can compare the objects and find out which ones are longer and which objects are shorter.
Watch the video to carry on with your learning. Remember to have your activity sheet ready. Instead of completing question 4, I have included a measuring activity for you to complete. If you cannot print the activity then I would like you to find 2 objects in your house and measure them using your own objects like paper clips and blocks. Tell me how long each object is and which one is the longest.
Now that you have learnt how to count faces and edges on a 3-D shape it is time to learn how to count vertices!
Here is a reminder of some 3-D shapes and their names:
The vertices are where two or more lines or edges on a shape meet. They are sometimes referred to as corners but vertices is the correct name.
Look at this diagram below to show you where to find vertices on a 3-D shape:
Once more I would like you to use the website in the link below to find and count vertices on a cube and tetrahedron. If you click the vertices it will circle them and count them up for you!

Did you enjoy finding out about wolves? I hope you kept all your facts safe from Tuesday and Wednesday because now you are going to use them.
Year 1 and 2: I would like you to think of a way of showing or displaying this information.
Today I am going to let you decide how you would like to do this.
Here are a few ideas.
Make a colourful poster with pictures / photographs with sentences.
Make a model or art work of a wolf and attach some of the facts. (e.g. lift the flap)
Make a hanging wolf mobile displaying wolf facts.
Make your own booklet about wolves.
Make a game where people find out about wolves.
Make a video. Perhaps you could be a reporter like David Attenborough!
You might be able to think of another way. What is important is you decide!
Have fun with it and I look forward to seeing what you have all done.
Blue group: I would like you to write sentences about the wolves in each of the pictures. There is a word bank to help you at the top of the worksheet.
Today we are going to looking at the bible story of David and Goliath. This is a story of how a small shepherd boy fought a giant called Goliath.
I have attached a video for you to watch.
David had courage. He was afraid but that did not stop him fighting Goliath.
He used the skills he had learnt as a shepherd to overcome Goliath.
I want you to think about being brave. You have done many brave things and will carry on to do brave things.
I would like you to think of times when you have been brave.
It might have been learning something new - going somewhere new, trying something new. It might have been when you were really worried about something but still tried to do it. It might have been when you have been hurt but you were brave.
Write and draw about some times when you have been brave.
There is a poster for you to make to encourage others to brave. What pictures will you put on it? What words will you put on the poster to encourage others to be brave? There is a word bank on the poster to help you.
In our PSHE learning this week we are learning how to solve disagreements. If we have a big disagreement, we call it conflict between people. Conflict usually involves lots of anger and sadness because both people are feeling very cross and sad by the situation.
Have you ever had an argument with one of your friends that has made you really cross and sad? Can you remember how the problem was fixed?
Sometimes we need help from a friend or a grown up to help us resolve the problem. Resolve is when you sort the problem out.

When we are cross, we often don’t think about how anyone else is feeling but it is a really good idea to try and take a moment to see the situation from the other person’s point of view.
