Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Thursday

Right guys, it’s Thursday and for a bit of fun today here we have the GUMMY BEAR DANCE!

For today’s learning we have…

RWI

One lesson will show at 9.30am each day and be available for 24 hours.

If you are in Mrs Daniel’s RML group you will need to watch set 1. If you are in Ms Ellson’s or Mrs Riley’s RML group you will need to watch the Set 2 Speed sounds, word time and spelling videos. You should watch these every day.

I have attached the link here.

Literacy

Have you wondered why Rabbit went to the library to get a book about wolves? Today, we are going to find out. Watch this short film.

So why do you think he went to the library?

I think he went because he needed to find out as much as he could about wolves because his friends were disappearing and he thought it was the wolf.

I would like you to write about what happened to the rabbits. It is going to be written a little like a counting poem like:

There was ten in the bed and the little one said roll over, roll over.

So they all rolled over and one fell out. There was nine in the bed…

Click on the video to see how to write about what happened to the rabbits. The rest of the pictures are on the video so you will only need a pencil and paper to write your sentences.

If you want to write the sentences next to the pictures, I have also added the worksheet so you can do this.

Remember to use a capital letter to start a sentence and a full stop to end a sentence.

You might be able to use an adjective in a sentence.

You might use an exclamation mark to show surprise or shock.

I have included a word bank of number words to help you as well.

I look forward to seeing your writing.

Maths

Just like yesterday, today your learning will be on counting in 5s. Remember what we learnt yesterday because we are using that learning to answer more questions.

Watch this video to complete your learning.

Now, Can you answer the questions on the worksheet; colour in the 5s on your grid first. Do you notice a pattern? Some questions may ask you to count back in 5s so use your number grids.

Blue group:

Today we will be learning our number bonds to 10. These are numbers we add together to make 5. Do you know them? They are:

10 + 0,   9 + 1   8 + 2,  7 + 3,  6 + 4,  5 + 5,  4 + 6,  3 + 7,   2 + 8,  1 +  9,   0 + 10  Like yesterday, I would like you to trace the numbers 1 to 10 for your warm-up. I would then like you to complete your worksheet by filling the missing numbers. You can always use your fingers to help you.

Now try this game and help Ben find the treasure.

R.E

The 16th of February was Shrove Tuesday (last week) and we have been learning lots about Christianity I thought it would be a good idea if we learnt why some people celebrate Pancake Day!

Do you like pancakes? Not everyone does!

If you do, what are your favourite toppings?

The power point below will teach you a little more about Shrove Tuesday and some of the different traditions in different parts of the UK.

After you have read the information in the power point you have some activities to complete.

On your worksheet you have a picture of a pancake to colour and design in the way in which you would have your pancake! If you don’t like them perhaps you could design one for someone you know who likes them. You also have some questions to answer about Shrove Tuesday.
I have included a pancake recipe: you could make your own pancakes if you like them and have the ingredients! (You could make your pancake design match the pancake you make.)

There is also a cutting and sticking activity to design a pancake, you can complete this if you want to!

Here’s a silly rap you could try to learn about making pancakes, just for a bit of fun!

PSHE

In our PSHE learning this week we are thinking about why it is important to be a good listener.

We have to listen to lots of different people in life. Our grown-ups, our friends and our teachers and lots of other people to.

There are lots of reasons why we need to listen to people.
Can you think of any?

Here are some that I came up with:
* To learn things
* To stay safe
* To be polite
* So you can help people
* To hear funny things

Do you think you are a good listener?

How do you think people feel when you listen to them?

Work your way through the power point, thinking and answering the questions along the way.

Then you have a worksheet to complete to show you know how to be a good listener.

To finish, here’s a song to learn what you can do to become a whole body listener so people around you know you are listening to them.

Did you hear the different ways to be a whole body listener?
Following these steps will make sure the people who are talking to you know that you’re listening to them!
