Phonics
Miss Sharpe's group - I would like to join in with the live phonics lesson streaming on youtube at 9:30am (remember if you miss it - don't worry! It will be on the youtube channel for 24hrs)
You are learning set 3 sounds so make sure this is the one that you watch. You should also watch and join in with the spelling video to match the sound which you are learning today. You will need some paper and a pencil to write the words on.
It's really important to keep practising your sounds.

Reading
Today you are still using the 'Great Fire of London' text.
For today's reading lesson you can skim read through the text to remind you of the information inside the text. Your reading learning today is to answer multiple choice questions. This means there will be a selection of options for you to choose from.
Skim through the text to find the part the question is asking you about, then select the correct answer from the choices.
The pancake song today to tie in with your RE learning!

Today, you are going to put your learning from yesterday into practise.
You will need to look closely at the block diagrams.
Can you say what the block diagram is showing? What is it showing the amount of?
How many of each type of ‘thing’ is there? Remember to read the scale on the left hand side (the y axis).
What type has the most?
What type has the least?
For your challenge, you are going to create your own block diagram so that you can prove you understand block diagrams.

Today you are going to carry on practising your learning about doubling.
Remember that doubling is when we add the same number to itself.

Writing

At the end of the story Burglar Bill decides to lead an honest life and stop being a burglar. Today I would like you to pretend to be Bill and write a letter to apologise to someone he has stolen from. First, let’s remind ourselves about writing letters. can you remember when we wrote a letter for the story The Boy Who Cried Wolf? There is a special way we need to write letters. Here is an example of a letter to remind you how to set a letter out.
First you need your address at the top of the letter in the right corner. Then you need the date you are writing your letter underneath the address.
On the other side of the page, you need to write who you are writing the letter to. We usually start Dear.
Then on a new line you start writing what you want to say.
When you have written everything down you want to say, you need to sign your letter so the person knows who sent the letter.
Now we know how to set out a letter we can start thinking about what to put in the letter. Because you are writing as Bill you will need to use the words I, me and my.
How did you get the things? Did you cause any damage?

As the 16th of February (next Tuesday) is Shrove Tuesday and we have been learning lots about Christianity I thought it would be a good idea if we learnt why some people celebrate Pancake Day!
Do you like pancakes? Not everyone does!
If you do, what are your favourite toppings?
The power point below will teach you a little more about Shrove Tuesday and some of the different traditions in different parts of the UK.
After you have read the information in the power point you have some activities to complete.
On your worksheet you have a picture of a pancake to colour and design in the way in which you would have your pancake! If you don’t like them perhaps you could design one for someone you know who likes them. You also have some questions to answer about Shrove Tuesday.
I have included a pancake recipe: you could make your own pancakes if you like them and have the ingredients! (You could make your pancake design match the pancake you make.)
There is also a cutting and sticking activity to design a pancake, you can complete this if you want to!
Here’s a silly rap you could try to learn about making pancakes, just for a bit of fun!
PSHE
This week in our PSHE learning we are going to learn about online safety.
What devices or consoles do you use that are connected to the internet? (You might need to check with a grown up!)
I’m sure lots of you watch videos on youtube and play games on different devices and consoles. This lesson will teach you some really important things to do to keep yourself safe whilst you are online and what to do if you are worried about anything you see or hear online.
