Maths
Year 1 – Yesterday we counted in 5s. Today we are going to count in 2s. Join in with the counting in 5s song.
What pattern do you notice?
Yes, all the numbers end in a 2, 4, 6, 8 or a 0.
They are are all multiples of 2.
See if you can borrow some 2p coins. Can you count in 2s to find the total of a group of 2ps.
Can you use pasta or Lego bricks and group them into 2s. Count in 2s to see how many you have altogether?

Year 2 – Now that you can spot equal groups we are going to move on.
You can add equal groups to find the total. To help you with your learning watch the video and work through the activities.
When you have done that complete the worksheet.
Blue group – Today we are moving on to using a number line to add numbers together.
Look at this number sentence 5 + 3 =
To add these numbers together we can use a number line. First find the start number 5 on the number line.
It then says add 3 so you need to jump 3 spaces forwards on the number line. You land on the number 8. So 5 + 3 = 8.

Literacy
Today we shall do our grammar learning.
Year 1 and Blue group – Today we are going to look at adjectives.
Adjectives are describing words. They tell us more about people, places and things.
Numbers are adjectives. Two pens. Three mugs, Four flowers.
See if you can complete the worksheet about adjectives.
Year 2 – there are many different types of nuns.
Common nouns tell us the names of ordinary things.
Proper nouns are people’s names, days and months and places.
Collective nouns tell us the names of groups of things.
Another type of noun is a compound noun.
We make compound nouns by joining two nouns together. table + cloth = tablecloth

On a Thursday afternoon we practise our reading skills.
Year 1 and 2 - Read the text. Fred talk any words you are unsure of then answer the questions carefully.
Blue group – say the sounds. Practise the green words for the ditty then read the ditty. When you have finished answer the questions.
