Greenfield Primary School

Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Thursday

Good morning. Hope you are all well and managed to complete all your learning yesterday.

Remember you can send me your learning on the class email.  I do look forward to seeing what you are up to at home.

Reading

It is really important that you continue to practise your reading at home! I have put lots of information about different ways you can keep reading at home if you have read every book you have at home. You can always read it again... you know that 3 times is best! Remember to ask your grownup to ask you questions about your book.

* Who is the main character?
* What happens in this story?
* Were there any funny parts? What parts were funny?
* What was your favourite part and why?
* Was there a part you didn't like and why?

Maths

Year 1 -    Our warm up is for all Year 1 this morning. We are going to be ordering and sequencing numbers on a caterpillar. You can choose how difficult you make it for yourselves but remember to give yourself a challenge.

https://www.topmarks.co.uk/ordering-and-sequencing/caterpillar-ordering

Your learning for today is to find ¼ of an amount. Go through the power point with your grown up and then try the worksheet on your own. I am looking forward to seeing photos of your learning.

Remember to practise your times tables with Times Tables Rock Stars.

Blue group:  Your learning today is adding more. We have got a minibeast theme today. I want you to count the minibeasts carefully, draw more in the box and then count how many there are altogether. Remember touch the minibeasts as you count them and form your numbers carefully.

Year 2:  Can you multiply by 2, 5 and 10?

Click on the link for hit the button (or you can download the app) Choose times tables and on the left where it is titled “hit the answer” practise your 2, 5 and 10 times tables. How many can you get correct?

https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button

Today you will be completing a multiplication grid to show how well you have learnt your 2, 5 and 10 times tables. You should count in the multiples when working out the answers if you can. Remember to start from 0 when you start counting up

Challenge for all: Write the numbers under the correct heading, either multiples of 2, 5 or 10.

Literacy

At the end of Mrs Armitage on Wheels it says:

“But what these roller skates need,” said Mrs Armitage to herself, “what these roller skates need is….”

What do you think is going to happen next?

What is Mrs Armitage going to do to the roller skates?

Today I would like you to draw and label what you would do to make these roller skates even better! What are you going to add? Boosters to make it go faster? A satnav to find your way around? A brake to stop? How will you keep dry? What are you going to do with Breakspear?

After you have drawn your picture, complete a planning grid to collect your adjectives and prepositional language. (on, under, in front, behind etc) Remember, you have already done this before when you planned your description of your own wheeled toy! Keep the plan safe for tomorrow!

You can really use your imagination with this and design a new pair of special roller skates never invented before!

Mrs Armitage on rollerskates!

R.E - Today we are going to look at the importance of leaders. Leaders are in charge of different places and people follow the instructions they give. Today you are going to think about some different leaders and why leaders are important.

PSHE - Today we will be learning about why it is important to keep active. Over the next week you need to keep a diary recording all the active things that you have done.

Click on the document to find out about keeping active. The last page tells you how to keep this diary.
