Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Thursday 16th July 2020

Good Morning

I hope you are all well. Details of Friday's 4pm Zoom party will be sent out today (via email), so please keep your eyes peeled if you would like your child to take part in this end of year party celebration.

Stay safe,

Miss Sharpe

Reciprocal Reading

Today, we are going to continue reading chapter 16 of Nim’s Island.

Once you have read today’s pages, I would like you to write a prediction - What do you think that Alex Rover is planning to do next based on her recent email to Delia about getting boat supplies?

Literacy

If you predicted correctly in today’s reading - Nim is going on a new adventure on a boat! This is where our story ends, unfortunately. But there sounds like there is definitely going to be a new adventure. We are going to write our own adventure called ‘Nim at Sea.’

Today, I would like you to use the story mountain to plan out a new adventure for Nim. The story plan must include -

  • an opening

  • a build up

  • a dilemma/problem

  • a resolution to the problem

  • an ending

Use the templates to help you make notes and plan your adventure ‘Nim at Sea.’

Maths

Today I would like you to have some Maths FUN!! Follow the links below to some websites that have some Maths games that you can play today. Make sure you select the relevant age for yourself. If you find the games tricky, then perhaps choose the age group below yours and try those games.

PSHE

Soon, after our 6 weeks holiday, you will be returning to school. I would like you to take this time to tell me a little bit about your time during lockdown and what you have done while you have not been at school.

Then I would like you to tell me about 5 things that are worrying you about returning to school and being in Year 4 when you come back in September.

Finally, I would like you to tell me 5 things that you are looking forward to in September.

Below are 3 template sheets that you may use. If not, you may write/draw it on a piece of paper.

Send me a picture of these sheets if you would like, it would be great to see how you are all feeling about September.
