Greenfield Primary School has links with several local sporting clubs.
1) Pelsall Cricket Club
We have been a partner school with Pelsall Cricket Club since 2008. We have enjoyed coaching sessions from their coaches and have access to their ground to play matches or any festivals that we organise
2) Birchfield Harriers Athletic Club
Mrs Gregory who is one of the school teaching assistants is a coach at Birchfield Harriers. Her husband and sons are also coaches and officials at the club. Through this link our children have been invited to take part in athletics training at the Alexander Stadium. The highlight of the link so far was when the children were able to take part in the Tom Pink Race Meet at the National Indoor Arena in February 2013.
Check out the photos in our Athletics Club Section.
3) Leicester City Ladies
Zainab Pervais was captain of Greenfield Girls team when the team was so successful that it entered a local girls league to compete against established clubs. That success continued as the team went on to win both the league and cup in it's first season. Zainab is a current member of Leicester Ladies and is employed by Greenfield to run a lunch time football club.
4) Shelfield United F.C.
Many children who attend Shelfield United training or play in matches are members of Greenfield School. Some of the team managers are parents of children at Greenfield. The club was formed by a former parent of a child at Greenfield Mr Brian Prosser.
5) Trojan Kick Boxing Club
We are very fortunate that the son of one of our lunch time supervisors is a Black belt in Karate and a full England International. He has recently set up his own academy and with a fellow Black Belt and England International Dale Southall. The two have designed a fitness programme around martial arts for our children in Key Stage Two and work with our children and staff to promote healthy and active life styles.
6) Bloxwich Rugby Club
The husband of one of our TA's, Mark Beech is a coach at Bloxwich Rugby Club. He has run taster and coaching sessions as part of our Sainsbury's School Games Activity Days. During the Spring term of 2015,coaches from Bloxwich have coached our Year Five and Six children during their curriculum lessons. They have also supported a school team which competed in the Walsall Schools Tag Rugby Competition.
