Writing:

This week we started reading the story of Beauty and the Beast.   Our Writing this week is going to be linked to Beauty and the Beast too – we are going to write a setting description.

Our learning journey this week will look like this:

Monday: SPAG Lesson – Education City

Learning about prepositions.

Tuesday: Education City

Introducing settings – learning to describe a setting using senses.

Wednesday:

What is the Prince’s palace like?

Making a word bank using pictures and our senses.

Thursday:

Plan a setting description of the Prince’s palace.

Friday:

Writing a setting description of the Prince’s palace.

Open up Education City and log in. We have set you a learn screen and an activity to learn about prepositions.

Now you have had an introduction to how to use prepositions, it’s time to try using them!

Go to the Writing Resources at the end of this section and open up this document:

Writing - Monday 8.3.21- find the right activity for your group and complete this one.

Maths:

This week in Maths we are going to practise our number and place value skills.  We are going to make sure that we are confident with these skills so we can use them in other areas of Maths.

Log in to Education City and complete the activities.  Then open up the resource section below to download your activity sheets. (The name of the worksheet will match the activity that we have set for your group on Ed City).

PSHE Activities:

As it is our first week back, we are going to be doing lots of activities this week to settle back in and take some time for Dahl Class to re-connect, ask and answer questions and share our feelings.

Our first activity is a jigsaw activity.  It is a chance for us to share some facts about ourselves and learn something that we didn't know about our class members!

Our second activity is to share the things that we have been doing during our time at home.  Fill in the thought bubbles with some of your activities you have done, when you haven't been doing your home learning! There are some ideas on the activity sheet at the bottom.
