Literacy

Despite the windy weather we are in the season of summer. What do you know about summer? What do you usually do in the summer?

Today we have attached some summer writing frames to complete. You can choose one or a few. Remember our Early Learning Goal for the end of Reception is that you write more than one sentence. So for each picture try writing 2 or 3 sentences. Discuss that each sentence starts with a capital letter and ends with a full stop.

Does each sentence make sense? Have you used your Fred fingers to spell words? Have you got finger spaces between your words? Are your letters well formed? Does each sentence start with a capital letter? Have you got a full stop at the end of each sentence?

Maths

This week in maths we are going to learn about numbers to 20. Start off by counting forwards and backwards to 20, if you can go higher keep going. You can use a number line to help you with number recognition too.

On a piece of paper write down numbers 0-20 and cut them up, you can use these for tomorrows learning too so try to keep them safe. Get some objects and choose a numeral. Read it and count out the correct amount of objects to match. Keep going through and match them to 20.

Finish off our maths learning by playing our ordering number game.

Topic

We love the sun but it can be dangerous. How do you keep safe in summer? Attached is a PowerPoint about sun safety. Read through and talk about what they key points are.

You can then make a poster about what you have learnt. At school we are designing our own sun hats! Don’t forget to send us any pictures!
