Happy Monday guys, welcome back to our learning.
Let’s get our bodies moving with a good tune… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziLHZeKbMUo
For today’s learning we have…
RWI
Remember to practise your sounds daily. RWI will be holding daily virtual lessons for children to practise their sounds:
Set 1 sounds at 9:30am
Set 2 sounds at 10:00am
Set 3 sounds at 10:30am
They have updated these lessons to include word time for set 1 speed sounds and spelling for set 2 and 3.
There is also “Storytime with Nick” three times a week (Mon, Wed & Fri at 2pm) and some poems that your child can learn and perform.
SPaG
I have attached a correct the spelling worksheet for you. The word you need to correct is circled.
Literacy
We are going to revise what we know about past tense verbs.
Verbs are doing words. They tell us what people, animals and things do.
chew play jump
Verbs can tell us what people, animals and things did.
chewed played jumped
We add ed to the verb family name.
Watch the video to find out about verbs
Now try the activity. You have to read the verbs (doing words) and sort them into past tense (things that have happened) and present tense (things that are happening now).
You can either cut out the verbs and stick them under the correct heading or write the verbs under the correct heading.
Maths
This morning we have a maths warm up to get our brains working, try to complete this independently.
All groups:
This week we are going to be learning about fractions. Today we are going to be learning about half, half looks like this: ½ . This means there are 2 equal parts. Watch this clip to see how we find ½ of a shape then click on the worksheet for your group to put this learning to the test.
Remember to practise your times tables with Times Tables Rock Stars.
Science
Animals
At the start of our topic “Fire and Ice” we looked at different animals. We found out that there were different groups of animals.
Today we are going to revise our knowledge on this.
I would like you to watch some short films about each of the different animal groups. Watch the films about mammals, amphibians, birds, fish and reptiles.

I have also attached a power point about the different animal groups for you to look at too.
When you have finished, I would like you to look at the different groups of animals and say what the animal has in common. (What is the same about them?)
