Literacy:

Make sure you’ve turned your writing brains on, because we are about to do our first literacy lesson of this half term!

This week we are going to be focussing on a brand-new story. It is called Farmer Duck; let’s read it together by watching the video below:

This week we are going to be writing a retell of this story. Can you remember what we need to make before we start writing? That’s right, we need to make an ‘S’ plan. I have made an example ‘S’ plan for you to have a look at before you make your own, have a look at this video to see it:

Farmer Duck S-Plan

Can you see that I have used a picture to represent each of the key events in the story? Can you remember what the key events are? Tell your grownup.

Now it’s time for you to draw your own ‘S’ plan! Farmer Duck is quite a long story, so remember to keep referring back to the story video to help you remember what happened. I can’t wait to see what you come up with – I know that your drawings are going to be a lot better than mine!

If you would like a template for your ‘S’ plan, feel free to print the document below:

Maths:

For our maths learning today we are going to be learning about the amounts 9 and 10. You’re going to need your careful counting skills today. Remember to make sure we count correctly we need to touch the objects as we count. Click here to join in with today's learning.

After you have watched the clip about 9 and 10. We want you to see how many ways you can make 9 and 10. Like this:

You could use stones, counters, sweets, biscuits, buttons, pieces of lego, anything that you have at home. We can’t wait to see how many different ways you can make 9 and 10.

Music:

This afternoon we will be learning some music. In this lesson, we will get busy at the Veggie Patch. We will use raindrops to help us learn about pitch and start to read high, middle and low sounds. This lesson's brand new song is one to dance to, so make sure you have plenty of space.

PSHE:

In this lesson we will learn that different people in different countries dress differently because of the traditions in that country. Today we want you to use clothing from your home to dress as though you live in another country.
