Here is the order we usually follow in class for Reciprocal Reading:

  • Predict (sensible guess)

  • Read the pages

  • Clarify the meaning of words you didn’t know

  • Answer the questions

  • Summarise

Grammar

This week in Grammar, we are learning about past simple/past progress tense and perfect/past perfect tense.

Verbs are doing words.

Past tense verbs tell us what people, animals and things did in the past.

  • Past simple tense: I polished my cup.

  • Past progressive tense: I was polishing my cup.

  • Perfect tense: I have polished my cup.

  • Past perfect tense: I had polished my cup.

Click the link below to a video explaining today’s learning.  Once you have watched the video, work through the questions given. The answers are attached for you to mark them after.

Maths

Today, we are learning to add fractions. This is a recap lesson from Year 3 but it is important we go through it again.

Here is the link to a video that will teach you everything you need to know for this lesson, just as I would teach you in class: https://vimeo.com/507108462

After you have watched the video, have a go at answering the questions on the attached worksheet. Afterwards, you can mark your answers and ask a grown up to go through any mistakes you made that you don’t know how to correct.

Attached is a true or false for you to answer. Work through it and explain your answers. This is just a discussion to have with somebody else, you do not need to write anything down.

All children to complete every question today as this is an essential recap lesson.

Science

Today in Science, we will learn to describe the movement of the Earth relative to the sun in the Solar System.

Your learning for today will be on the website linked below like last lesson.

https://www.developingexperts.com/

There will also be a different worksheet attached which is a labelling activity. This is to be done first as I would like you to label the Solar System first.

You will have your own personal log in, which I emailed to you a few weeks ago, if you do not have this please contact me and I will send it to you.

Use this log in to access your work. Once you have completed it, I am able to see what you have been up to so do not worry about sending me in pictures for Science.

If you have not contacted me yet on email here is our class email address.
