Grammar
Today in Grammar, you are learning about direct and indirect speech.
Please click the link to watch a video about direct and indirect speech: https://www.theschoolrun.com/what-are-direct-and-indirect-speech
Direct speech is when we write the actual words that someone has spoken.
Speech marks go at the beginning and the end of the spoken words.
Punctuation at the end of the spoken words goes before the speech marks.
When a different person speaks we begin a new line.
For example: Miss Brown said, “Collect your things and get ready for home time.”
Indirect speech is when we write about what someone has said.
We don’t use the actual spoken words.
We don’t use speech marks.
For example: Miss Brown asked the children to get their things ready for home time.
Please watch the short clip below of me explaining today’s learning. I have also attached a copy of the questions to work through.
Maths
Today, you are going to continue with recapping equivalent fractions.
Here is the link to a video that will teach you everything you need to know for this lesson, just as I would teach you in class: https://vimeo.com/504316253
After you have watched the video, have a go at answering the questions on the attached worksheet. Afterwards, you can mark your answers and ask a grown up to go through any mistakes you made that you don’t know how to correct.
Attached is a true or false for you to answer. Work through it and explain your answers. This is just a discussion to have with somebody else, you do not need to write anything down.
All children to complete every question today as this is an essential recap lesson.
History
Today, you are going to be learning about Ancient Egypt.
Attached is a PowerPoint that will give you all of the information you need to know for today’s lesson.
Inside the PowerPoint, there are links to a few videos that explain different elements of the lesson.
At the end of the PowerPoint, there is a slide labelled ‘Your Task’ which tells you what you need to do according to your group.
