# Monday

This week we are going to going to read another of Roald Dahl’s books: Esio TrotIt is one of our favourites!

Open up Monday’s reading documents at the end of this section:

Read through the instructions - they will guide you through the activities you are going to do when you have read today’s pages (p.3-7).

We have also added a video to guide you through it -

Look in Children > Video Resource Centre > Dahl Reading Week Beginning 8.2.21 for the video!

We are following the Reciprocal Reading pattern of:

Predict (Make a sensible guess based on the text)

Clarify words that you didn’t understand

Summarise

So far this term we have been looking at lots of narrative (story) writing.  This week we are going to learn how to write some instructions.

Our learning journey this week will look like this:

Monday:

Learning about the features of instructions.

Tuesday: SPAG Lesson

Imperative Verbs

Giving instructions verbally

Wednesday:

Exploring instructions – how to build a rain-gauge.

Thursday:

Design your own device to catch a tortoise. Planning the instructions.

Friday:

Writing a set of instructions for how to build your design.

Today you will continue to develop your skill of dividing 2-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers. Take a look at the attached PowerPoint and/or click on the Resource Centre link and listen as I talk through the PowerPoint recording then work through your questions.

Today in Maths you are going to continue your great work learning your 8 times table. Look at the link below for today's PowerPoint with me talking you through it, pause or replay it as often as you need. Once you have done that attempt today's questions and then finally check them using the answers provided.
