Reading - Text: Tales From Shakespeare - Cover
From the title of the book what comes to your mind? Do you know anything about William Shakespeare?

Writing - Macbeth - History of the play.

Romeo and Juliet was written 1595 and Macbeth was written 1606 so both written during the reign of James the first.
In this lesson, we will look at the author William Shakespeare and the time period in which the play, 'Macbeth', was written. Then we will explore different types of plays and end on a brief introduction into the play.

Orange and Red - Pause the video when asked and try to answer the questions about Macbeth in particular. How many can you get right? Email me your answers and scores. Make sure you listen carefully as knowing when the play was written will help you understand some of the language in the days to come.
Blue - Focus on the year the play was written and what type of play you think that Shakespeare is.

This week is independent as can not be supported by your parents and google/calculators etc. Try to recall as much as possible for next weeks independent sheet.
