Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Monday

Good morning Troughton Class! smiley

I hope you were able to do some fun things at home during the 'Easter Break'. I have enjoyed some nice walks and cycle rides as part of my daily exercise in the beautiful sunshine we have been having! I have also enjoyed eating some yummy chocolate Easter eggs too! laugh
I was very proud of how hard lots of you were working before the holidays, even though it's tricky working at home. Keep up the fantastic work! I can't wait to see more of your fabulous learning.
Feel free to share any of your learning with me or ask any questions to the class email address: troughton@greenfield.walsall.sch.uk

Reading

It is realllllllllllllllly important that you continue to practise your reading at home! You are all fabulous readers because you read so much at school and at home. I have put lots of information about different ways you can keep reading at home if you have read every book you have at home. You can always read it again... you know that 3 times is best! laugh You can ask your grownup to ask you questions about your book, you could write your own answers to these questions:
* Who is the main character?
* What happens in this story?
* Were there any funny parts? What parts were funny?
* What was your favourite part and why?
* Was there a part you didn't like and why?

Maths: Green, Yellow, Orange & Red groups

Today you will be finding number pairs to 20. This means 2 numbers that you add together to make 20. Such as 10 + 10 or 17 + 3. Make sure you count carefully so you can be accurate.

Maths: Blue group

Today I would like you to count in 2s. You need to watch the counting in 2s video that I will post below this then answer the questions on your worksheet. You have to fill the gaps with the missing numbers. For example: 3 groups of children with 2 eyes makes 6, because if you count in 2s three times it equals 6.

Today I would like you to recap what an adjective is.
An adjective is a word that describes an animal, person or thing. Adjectives include words that describe what something looks like and what it feels like to touch, taste, or smell. Adjectives can be colours and words that describe temperatures and sizes.

Watch the video on this link about adjectives. Once you have watched the video scroll down to take the adjectives quiz! Can you answer all the questions correctly???? laugh

Year 1 English- Adjectives. 24 09 17

In our English lessons we have been learning about adjectives. Here is a video to explain what we have been doing.

Science: All groups

For today's science lesson you will be looking at objects and materials. If you looked at a wooden chair. The chair would be the object and wood would be the material it was made from. You are going to write (or say) the name of the object and the material it is made from. There are 8 for you to complete. I wonder if you take a peek around your home, if you can see any other objects and work out what materials they are made from! smiley
