Writing - Shakespeare: Macbeth - Verbs and Adverbs with relative clauses.
Today's lesson found here, will start to wrap up our work on Shakespeare. At the end of the week we will be writing a long (over 3 days) character description of Macbeth. Today we will be looking at Shakespeare's Animated Tales to describe Macbeth's actions, facial features and body language at different points in the play. We will be paying close attention to how these change throughout the play, as he does the things we have already read about. We use verbs to explain what is being done. Adverbs tell us how it was done. For example:
Green and Yellow - Write sentences that use relative clauses with the relative pronoun who. Try moving the relative clause around so it is in the middle or at the end of the sentence.
Orange and Red - Write sentences that use relative clauses with the relative pronoun who. Keep the relative clause in the middle of the sentence and use commas to allow us to pause to add the new facts.
Blue - Write sentences that use relative clauses with the relative pronoun who. relative clauses add related information into a sentence. So here is a simple sentence:
Alex was working at home.
We can add related information to that sentence about Alex .
Alex, who went to Greenfield, was working at home. The added information doesn't change the original sentence in bold letters. This is called adding a relative clause.
Maths - Maths Skills
