Reading - Holes by Louis Sachar

Today we are going to begin reading from chapter 4 until we get to the break in the text where the guards says 'your not in the Girl Scouts' anymore. You have a document below to guide you through it, there is also a video where you can get some extra help if you need it.

Writing - The Highwayman

In this lesson you will investigate and practise writing complex sentences using 'As adverbial clauses' based on all the Highwayman learning we've done so far.

A complex sentence has a main clause and a subordinate clause to remind yourself of this and wake up your body and your brain click on this link.

Remember that each part of the sentence needs to have a verb. You will need to complete the sentences as you work through the video, it is especially important that you mark them with the teacher to ensure you have included all the features.

Green and Yellow - Complete the True/False activity and then write four additional complex sentences.

Orange and Red - Complete the True/False activity and then write two additional complex sentences.

Blue - Complete the True/False activity.

Maths - Fractions

Green and Yellow - Today we are looking at improper fractions. These are fractions that look strange. Remember to think about test scores. 8 out of 10 is fine. But can you get 14 out of 10? What does that mean for fractions? Watch the lesson here and work through your sheet below.

Orange and Red - What does equal mean? Yes it means that something is the same as another. So what would equivalent fractions be? Fractions that may look different but are the same size, look here for more information. Watch your lesson here and complete the activity below.

Blue - Your lesson today is about finding half of something. Remember fractions are when we split a whole object into equal parts. Here is a quick game so that you can practise spotting if we have split a shape into equal parts or not. Please find your sheet below.

Double Foundation - Zoom and Music

Zoom: Support Session - 12:30pm

Our meeting ID is 398 812 5276 and the password remains the same as last time, if you would like a reminder just email me.

Today is an opportunity for us all to get together and discuss any areas of our learning that need support. We can discuss fractions, Holes or the Highwayman. If you need to go over anything, now is the time.

See you there.

Music:

In this lesson, you are going to begin to clap rhythmic patterns in a call and response pattern. You are going to learn what improvising means and how to create a rhythmic improvisation pattern. You will also revisit our song and make up some body percussion patterns to fit the pulse.
