Writing - Shakespeare: Macbeth - Figurative Language (Simile and Personification)
Today's lesson which is found here is about figurative language. What is figurative language you might ask, well we know it as personification and simile.
Personification, the clue is in the name, tries to describe objects with human like qualities, to make it sound like a person:
Simile, here we make things sound similar to one another. We use the words ...like... or as...as... to compare two items that share the same idea/colour/size etc.
Green and Yellow - Write the sentences that you are asked to write, create the vocabulary list - try to create words the teacher hasn't come up with, write the 2 sentences you are asked to write. Then have a go at doing 2 more on your own to push yourself with this recap on these useful writing skills.
Orange and Red - Write the sentences that you are asked to write, create the vocabulary list and write the 2 sentences you are asked to write. Give it a good thought. Try to use some of your own ideas to make it more impressive.
Blue - Focus on the sentences that use similes. Write a simile sentence when asked, create a useful word (vocabulary list) and try to write 2 of your own simile sentences at the end. If you think you can do the personification work - please have a go at it.
Maths - Maths Skills
Complete your weekly maths skills sheet. The sheets are in the document section below. This week is supported and can be supported by your parents and google/calculators etc. Try to recall as much as possible for next weeks independent sheet. If you find a question tricky - education city is always available to refresh your skills if you search for what you need.
Green - Stage 5 Week 1 - We are going to try Stage 5 sheets - focus on the first column as the aim of today. Have a go at column 2/3. Some of those areas will be learning we have not done yet.
Yellow, Orange and Red - Stage 4 Week 15

Foundation - Science: Earth in Space
Today we are going to be learning about the phases of the moon. Follow this link which will take you to a website called Developing Experts.
I will be sending you your login for this by email - if you have not received it please let me know.
The link contains a slideshow which has all the information you need. Watch this and then complete the activity at the end, send me a picture of your phases of the moon leaflet (you will need a piece of paper, scissors and a pencil) . When you have done this complete the quizzes and there is also a word search if you would like to do it - clue the letters follow on like a maze not in a straight line.
